NISSIN Royal Stage Tenkara Rod

This premium rod is probably not the best choice for a Tenkara newbie but a better fit for an experienced Tenkara angler who has feel for the limits of a Tenkara rod and its proper care. If you are getting into bigger fish, I would highly recommend the Royal Stage 400 7:3 rod.

NISSIN Royal Stage Tenkara Rod

The NISSIN Royal Stage has a premium feel and cast, as well as top notch aesthetics. The rod feels similar to the NISSIN Zerosum rods but a little stiffer and slightly heavier but it is still a very light Tenkara rod.

See Tom Davis’s (Teton Tenkara Blog) review of the Royal Stage tenkara rod.

Just received my Royal Stage 400 6:4 It’s a beautiful rod. I’ll be trying it out this weekend on a spring creek in New Mexico.

I used the rod today in New Mexico fishing spring creeks and it performs very nicely. Casting a level line with this rod was quite easy. The fly presentation was perfect because the line barely disturbed the surface of the water. Getting drag free drifts was simplified because it was very easy to keep the line off the water. Love the rod!
