Fly Tying Recipe Materials List:

This is a very effective soft hackle tenkara fly that should work on all waters and most species of fish, especially trout in mountain creeks & streams. This fly is meant to be fished as a wet fly (sub-surface).

It is a very basic fly to tie.

Been following this vids for some time. I’m 40 and completely new to fly tying (and fly fishing).
This are great tutorials for newcomers! You learn this pattern but also how things work. With practice you end up knowing the steps used for most of the patterns.
The only bad thing is that you end up with more flies than fishing days, I might end up doing wall posters as with old school butterfly’s hunters. Even that I’m still using the cutter to start over from time to time, those minutes I’m with blank mindset, just like when I’m in the river. If you are thinking about this, just do it. It won’t be cheaper than buying the flies but you’ll own another fun skill.
