Not a really a tenkara fly but this leech pattern works awesome with a tenkara rod's ability to control the drift and slightly manipulate the fly if needed. This leech is a small enough to cast reasonably with a tenkara rod as well, great for those deeper runs that hold medium to larger trout. I use it on smaller rivers quite a bit with my tenkara rod, and if you are using a fly rod it works excellent on that as well of course.

This is a simple fly to tie and effective for fishing small rivers or deep creek runs or even fishing ponds and lakes with your tenkara rod. I will normally cast this up river and dead drift it down to 45% below me and then give it slight twitches. If the water is very slow or still water then I will let it sink down to depth and then twitch it back to me with very small twitches.
