I use this line when I am making up a tapered line. I usually start with a brightly colored 3.5 weight line for about 9 feet. Dragontail orange level line works just fine. I then use the Yamatoyo line, 3 weight, for about 3 feet if I am making a line for a 12-foot rod like the Kokoro 360. The lighter color is what I really like about this line. I feel it is less visible to the fish, and with the lighter weight it has less drag in the water. If I feel I need more visibility I will sometimes tie some 2.5 orange or pink line for the last foot of line. With just 3 feet at the end of the tapered line, I can easily see the 3.5 orange line for strike detection, but have the stealth of the Yamatoyo line.
