Everyone has their favorite way of connecting level line to their rod tip. Many people use a slip knot method but I have always liked how easy and quick a girth hitch loop works much better on my furled lines.
Several years ago I saw a diagram in a scanned document from a Keiryu Fishing Magazine that showed a method of creating a loop on your level line for use as a girth hitch connection. Ever since then this has been the way I attach my tenkara level line to my rod tip lillian string to get that same quick and easy connection that I was getting with my furled lines using a girth hitch.
