These tungsten bead head squirrel leeches sink well and are excellent for all seasons and for trout, bass, and even carp love them dropped right in front of their face. This fly leech pattern variation uses an olive squirrel zonker, flashy bright green small chenille body and an fluoro apple green color bead that we and our testers have found deadly in most waters and especially smaller rivers for medium to large trout.
Dead drift them, swing them, twitch them, it all works with these leeches.
These do not cast on soft tenkara rod all that well due to the 4mm tungsten bead weight but they do cast just fine on slightly stiffer tenkara rods and great on the big fish tenkara rods like the HELLbender rod.
Tied on a high quality size #8 Moonlit 1x long jig hook (ML511) with 4mm tungsten bead.
