The Takayam-Sakasa Kebari was developed in the Takayama region of Japan with a forward facing soft hackle, peacock thorax, and simple thread body. You can tie this simple tenkara fly in many different thread or hackle colors but purple is a color I tie it in a lot as it is a color that is easy for fish to see.
Fly tied by Brent Auger of DRAGONtail Tenkara.
Fly Tying Recipe Materials List:
I use purple but have fun with this fly and try many different thread colors and hackles.
This is a simple effective soft hackle tenkara fly that should work good especially for trout in mountain creeks & streams. This fly is meant to be fished as a wet fly (sub-surface).
It is a very basic fly to tie.
